Widgets and reminders: getting the most out of METE0RA
METE0RA is designed so you rarely need to open it. Two features do most of the work: widgets and reminders.
11 widgets
Four general widgets: current weather, forecast (it adapts to its size), an at-a-glance line and an hourly strip. Then one widget per topic: wind, UV, air quality, pollen, sea, sun and rain. Put the pollen widget on your home screen in spring, the sea widget in summer. Widgets update in the background about every two hours, and the refresh button updates them straight away. (Widgets and reminders are on Android first; other platforms will follow.)
Reminders that work like alarms
In the menu, open Reminders & alerts and choose what matters to you: heat above a temperature, cold below one, rain, snow, strong wind, UV and sunscreen, pollen, air quality. Then choose when: when it's coming (as soon as it happens, or a few hours before), every day at a set time, or every week. A few ideas:
- Rain, every evening at 21:00, "only if it's forecast": you'll know whether to take the umbrella.
- UV of at least 6, when it's coming: time for sunscreen.
- Pollen, every morning in spring, if you have allergies.
- Below 0 °C, a few hours before: protect the plants and the windscreen.
Plan your day
At the top of the screen, Plan your day shows the best time to be outside and what to bring, with a countdown when rain is coming within the hour. Further down, the hourly chart draws yesterday's temperatures as a dashed line, so you see at once if it's warmer or colder than yesterday.
